A group of five friends decided to invest in a bar and got a premium space in the middle of the Zona Viva (site of the best bars, restaurants and nightclubs in the city). The local triangular floor offered a great front on the sidewalk, which allowed to generate a concept of openness.
Two rooms were generated, the exterior similar to an outdoors coffee, and the interior similar to a lounge, chic-nightclub, which allowed to be in the middle of all the action surrounded by lights, music and lots people .
The range of cool colors like white, blue, light blue, purple and polished metals such as aluminum or galvanized were incorporated; To break this coldness we decided to place a cedar color laminate floor which gave warmth to the space. A striking element is inevitably: the six feet long bar also being made from one piece with a system that allows you to change colors inside. All the furniture was designed by Studio Domus and and built in Guatemala: to the chairs and white leather benches were proposed pleats on the seat and backrest; the blue acrylic tables surface have a shiny, anodized aluminum base .
The main architectural element that turned out to be a winding, striking piece was the suspended white sky. Built by several carpenters and craftsmen in MDF, lacquered in white, this beautiful fold with a reticle for added drama has a wavy shape. Indirect light that changes colors was placed between the sky and the white slab, which allowing a greater glow.
The bar remained open for three years and was finally dismantled, so these pictures remain the sole witness to this bold architectural work.
